A regulation capping ATM withdrawal fees at €1.5 went into effect in #Greece on August 11. What's the reality today? One ATM charged €5.90, and another charged €3.49. The #Euronet ATM added the "Cash & Balance" scam on top of that.
Got charged 5,95 for 50Euro withdraval in Kurtort Oyibin, Germany. Accepting card payments is apparently too much to ask for in a tourist spot like this 🤯 #ddr
@alatiera I thought the €1.5 cap was for third parties, but apparently not. But the problem isn't special to Greece. Some ATMs in Czechia charge up to €7 for withdrawal if you use a foreign card. It's sympathetic that there is a country which is trying to do something about it. So far I've been able to pay with a card almost everywhere. I wanted to withdraw some cash just in case.
