yeah, like GitHub was ever really “independent” from its Mother company. C’mon. The writings been on the wall for so long now.

I know it’s not feasible for everyone for many reasons but I’m increasingly glad I self-host…

Github's home page (when logged in) gave me a button that says "My open pull requests". Not only is this a scripted button that cannot be opened in a new window. The button does not lead to a page that lists your open pull requests.

This made me sad. I feel like that GitHub will become more bad now. Not saying that the A.I driven course was great to begin with. But with this the values of what used to be GitHub will erode, and the product as a whole start to dwindle. In short let the enshittification begin!

How does this change the cost benefit of keeping curl on GitHub? Is the sponsorship/free CI still too high value to be able to afford to walk away from it?

@gbargoud their sponsorship is worth A LOT in monetary value. In the 5-digit USD/month range. We don't have any other sponsor lined up to cover that, meaning that moving away would be a significant blow. We rather not take that hit if we can avoid it.
