In response to their anti-library lawsuit against the Internet Archive (blog.archive.org/2023/03/25/thβ¦), here is my tiny stand.
As of now, I will never buy a new book published by Hachette, HarperCollins, Wiley, and Penguin Random House. I will source second-hand copies or borrow them from libraries, but never again pay for a new book that will put money into the hands of these content-hoarding corporations.
The Fight Continues
Todayβs lower court decision in Hachette v. Internet Archive is a blow to all libraries and the communities we serve. This decision impacts libraries across the US who rely on controlled digital lending to connect their patrons with books online.chrisfreeland (Internet Archive Blogs)
