I just installed #Thunderbird (email client) for ... reasons, and when i open it up I see this weird octopus dude. Why am i seeing an octopus mascot thing instead of a bird mascot thing?!
@thunderbird I hadn't touched Thunderbird since before him.
To this new (renewed?) user it came across as a "we wanna be like GitHub!" for no apparent reason (looks like an Octocat rip-off). Additionally the tool's he's holding make no sense to me in the context of an email client, except for the megaphone, but that speaks more to mass-mailings than personal email. And, I don't understand why he is colored like a ghost.
