I propose we put a 100% on American software and SaaS.
Your Adobe cloud ? 100% tariff. Your Copilot 365 ? 100% tariff. Your Windows license ? 100% tariff. Your Apple Studio license or subscription ? 100% tariff.
But there is an easier way. @pluralistic has the gist of it.
Repeal the portion of Harper's C-11 where DRM override Canadian rights. Make repairing things legal. Also cancel the copyright extension.
Put back the DST (but the banker would never dare to do so) to encompass these "rental services" mentionned above. Tax Uber, Lyft and other "gig economy". You should be able to reconcile that from the tax information and send them the bill.
The thing about saying on the Fediverse what our politicians should do is that we know they won't even hear it as we are not the CSAM generator and nazi bar they cherish so much.

Sadly all of these require courage.

You know what happens if you tarrif our stuf? Your people hurt.
You know what happens if you drop DRM protections and our IP law? One of your people makes a knockoff version of our stuff, and OUR companies hurt.
