Rust conf is next week in town. Apparently I couldn't find the mask policy nor did I get an answer when I asked over mastodon, so I decided it wasn't for me.

you made the right decision re: the mask policy, but since it's worth sharing, it's put in the tiniest text possible as a link in the footer: rustconf.com/health-safety/

I and a few others were discussing this the other day, and how spineless the policy is. but, we've made our points and folks haven't listened, so, that's that

@clarfonthey when I asked @rustconf they never replied. Not even with that link that I can't even find from the homepage.

@clarfonthey @rustconf Update I found the link. Just that it seems to be like footnote for terms and conditions than clearly visible. The placard for the nazi bar is way more visible. #priorities
in reply to Hubert Figuière

@rustconf yeah, like I said, it's literally the smallest text on the page, alongside the code of conduct (which is apparently also unimportant)

@clarfonthey @rustconf "local regulations". that's a true cop out given how the people have been let down. FFS even hospitals don't require it.

"That Python conference had a mask policy that was wildly popular, so let's do the opposite."
