@NVAccess thinking of how to explain isn't always easy for me. I know I would love to see someone write an addon for NVDA that can do what leasie does regarding favorites. I hate hate hate, and hate the bookmarks in browsers. I like having a folder I can put favorites into and just use that. Leasie for JFW has a command you can issue that sets your favorites folder once you go into the folder you want to set up for your favorites. in my case it is c:\users\jammi\favorites. then when you are in your browser, and you find a site you want to add to your favorites, you can issue a command that brings up a diolog box that asks what you want the favorite to be called. you type it in, and press enter, and it saves that as a favorites in your favorites folder. I know, some might say that isn't important, but to me it is. smile. there are a couple other thing I am forgetting, but I am sure I will think of them at some point. smile. I will say I love the fact sappi five synths are a lot more responsive in 2025.1. I like using ivona sally that I baught 11 years ago, but as you know the ivona voices wern't very responsive. now they are. and I love it.

Thank you! Your specific wants are completely understandable & why I asked :) I'm glad the Ivona voices are working even better now, that's a good start!

For favorite folders, I found three add-ons on the store which MAY be useful?

"Favorite folders - Register favorite folders"
"Favorite links"
"Rutas favoritas" - (Spanish but maybe close?)

Looks like they all work with 2024.x but haven't yet been updated for 2025.1

1) Press NVDA+n, then t, then a to open the store.
2) If you already have add-on installed, press control+tab until on available add-ons.
3) Press alt+s to jump to the search field.
3a) To show incompatible add-ons, press shift+tab, then space to check "Include incompatible add-ons" then tab back to search.
4) Type "favorite"
5) Press tab to the list of add-ons
6) Press ENTER on any you like, down arrow to "Install" & press enter.
7) Press escape to close, restart when prompted.

@NVAccess ah, okl. will look into those. btw. Andre made a suggestion, that I am going to start doing. like I said, normally I download the .addon files, and keep them all organized in my NVDA folder I have. they suggested I make a portable version of my installed version, but don't use it. keep it in my stuff I have backed up for when I need to redo windows then I can start that portable version, and just tell it to install that, and it will install everythingk, meaning all the addons, all the settings, and such, saving me a lot of work.

@NVAccess I will say though that I do use NVDA on my laptop every day. now granit I don't do very much on my laptop, but one thing that NVDA has over JFW is that it doesn't stop reading after three hours. ok, if something pops up in front of what you are reading, it will mess it up, but that is obvious, but as long as nothing gets in the way, I have seen NVDA read for just over 8 hours before without stopping.

In one document? Or just in general use? Certainly we aim for NVDA to be useable all day on your PC as long as you need it - if you have a document which takes 8 hours to read and NVDA does that, I am very impressed :) I used to use the WWI Wikipedia article I think as a "long" text for testing which required a large amount of text.... I need to up my game by the sound of it!

@NVAccess anot her really nice thing, and I haven't figure this one out, but every time I try to load sound forge with JFW loaded, my speach stops working. the screen reader is still working, but eloquence just stops talking. I have to do an insert+space and then the f4 key to do a quick shutdown, and restart of JFW, once sound forge is completely loaded and then it works. NVDA this doesn't happen at all.
