how to I change the logging levil of #NVDA to I the the devs said debug, so that I can try tracking down this randum freezing thing? I am trying to find it, and am not having much luck.
Logging level is in the General settings. Press NVDA+control+g to open that directly, tab to "Log level", then down arrow to "Debug". Press ENTER, then press NVDA+q, down arrow to "restart with add-ons disabled" and press enter. Recreate the issue, then send us the log
@NVAccess the only problem is some of the addons I really need running, for example the station playlist studio addon. smile. I thought one of you told me I could leave them loaded, and you could still figure it out. smile.
It depends on the issue - if you're debugging an issue WITH the add-on then obviously you'll need that running (and probably then sending it to the dev of that add-on). For NV Access, if we know you can recreate something without add-ons running, it helps narrow down the issue to being in NVDA itself
@NVAccess in this case I don't know what is causing it. smile. so if I send the log once it starts happening, you can probibly tell me if it is NVDA, or an addon.
@NVAccess when it happens I could be typing a toot in tweesecake, I could be looking at a web site in google crome, I could be going threw emails. it just all of a sudden happens. it isn't a particular thing I am doing that always causes it to happen.
Most of the settings screens have one (NVDA+control+k for keyboard settings, NVDA=control+d for document formatting are probably the most common other ones I use) - but even just knowing NVDA+control+g to get in there and control+tabbing to other screens from there is definitely a bit quicker :)
For just changing voice options, there's also the synth settings ring. Documented here: download.nvaccess.org/document… but in short, press NVDA+control+arrows (add in shift if using laptop keyboard layout).
