Does anyone have an #accessible #irc #client for #WindowsXP? Discord, as you can imagine, is proving rather difficult to use, so I'd like to use IRC instead for the communities I'm a part of that have both. Thanks in advance!

They do have a site. Don't they have IRC anymore? That'll surprise me. It would've been my go to for XMPP on Windows.

If you can find it, Microsoft Chat 2.5 worked really well.

It might. Caveat is that I used it with JAWS 3 or 4.something well over 20 years ago, and it was abandonware even then. No idea how it will do with a comparatively newer copy of XP and your preferred screen reader.

@sclower I have versions of JAWS 7 through 15 installed. Not all of them, but hopefully enough.

oh wow, good luck! Sadly i dont know about accessible IRC clients, but in some corner of my dusty memories, i think mIRC had text-to-speech buttons?

Really unsure if that was the case, but might be worth checking out?

Try mIRC with a script. Here's one from my archives which works with JAWS. dropbox.com/scl/fi/jxcartbcm5v…

Is Mirc4Life still available? I used to use that one back in my XP and Vista days. Havne't touched an IRC chat in probably 6 years honestly. Last place I used it, we had a web-based chat interface that worked well, so haven't owned a Windows IRC client since probably 2014. Good luck.
