Ok got things done today, finally got the mangled install of #nvda ripped out of my laptop, got #narrator sorted for use with my #brailledisplay, and got windows updated. Also had the usual weekly voice chat on the #OurBlind #discord. We also put in a grocery order for tomorrow, and emailed the papers SNAP needed for our recertification.

Do you konw what was wrong with NVDA? It doesn't usually get to as bad as yours sounds, so if there's something we can do to fix / avoid such a situation, we'd definitely be keen to look into it.

@NVAccess So somewhere between windows updates and not really sure what else it got reset, but was given permission to run on login and somehow that part stayed but the logged in profile reset, and they would both keep trying to run stacked and while I could kill the reset profile each time the bugged out one could not be closed.

I'm not quite sure what was happening there. The logon screen is essentially like a different "user" to your logged in profile, so it uses one instance of NVDA which is mostly seperate from the regular one (hence why the settings you regularly use can't just continue when you go to a secure screen). We'd probably have needed a log to look into it, but if you've uninstalled / reinstalled and it's fixed and working now, that's the main thing.

@NVAccess Oh I just uninstalled and left it, I barely used my computer and I can only operate it with a braille display and narrator’s braille operation is closer to how Jaws does it which is the only method I have any actual training on. But yeah it was really odd, it all started after a windows 11 update last summer, which tells you how often I use the thing.
