Is there a way to tell @fdroidorg that when I tag a release as "beta" that it should not mark it as the recommended release when doing auto update?

Currently our #fdroid build is configured to have auto update ignore beta releases, so I have to manually submit them.

I read the https://f-droid.org/en/docs/Build_Metadata_Reference/ but couldn't find anything.
Any ideas?

index v2 should allow for "release channels". But I don't know how far implementation is with that (especially client-wise). fdroidserver changelog for v2.2.0 (released 2023-02-20) mentions that as "Per-repo beta channel configuration" – but as I cannot tell a) how that's configured and b) if that's already rolled out, I better refer to "someone in-the-know" 😉
