WTF. They can hide them from public view, that would be OK (in a way). But hiding them from the repo owner? Maybe collapse with a comment, so the owner can decide to see them or not (like CW here).

we set up a bot that archives all nixpkgs issues and PRs regularly at some point because GitHub regularly deletes valuable contributions from people in sanctioned countries without notice. It's a fucking pain in the ass.
@jelu Moving is not that easy sadly, and I already am short on time to maintain my projects, I don't want to add even more tasks to the todo list.
I can say however that I'm very glad that the IzzyOnDroid team standardized on Codeberg so more and more of my time is spent on Codeberg instead, which is great :)

I've had a notification that I can't remove for months now, because they "hid" it due to being a spam.
They said I could mark it read via it's API but I never bothered since I've left GitHub. You might wanna try to dump the issues via the API.
