The new F-Droid app will be able to download and install several updates simultaneously. Also, it will ask for confirmation before download, if needed (and supported on newer Android versions). #fdroid

Is downloading multiple things in parallel actually a useful thing? What are the scheduling thoughts behind that and how is the bandwidth allocated?

I'd assume it will slightly reduce overall download time (because establishing connections in parallel does speed things up) but the time until the first app is fully downloaded might be a lot higher because the allocated bandwidth is lower for every app?

Am I missing something?
