#StroongeCast E15: Christmas Catch-Up youtu.be/KR0NlflXvYw

In this episode we tell you about our Christmas happenings, the gifts, the food and the amazing StroongeCast t-shirts created by as she says, 'Our number 1 fan!'
Thanks to Kirsten's sister for these t-shirts, they're comfortable and warm and as soon as we unwrapped them, we loved them immediately.

#StroongeCast E14: Never Go To Sleep On An Argument youtu.be/9LDClW3wc54

Good news! we're now available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Just search for 'StroongeCast' in the Podcasts app.

In this episode we discuss arguments, how best to avoid feeling terrible the next day by resolving a bad argument before bed, and some of the ways in which we think we've grown as a couple by hashing things out in a sensible fashion.
As we often say to our children when they're young, 'Use your words!'
Seriously though, it can really help.

Here's the 'How To Make Your Marriage Work' clip mentioned in the episode. Sadly this cannot be viewed in the UK: youtu.be/MWcvQx6HiJs

#StroongeCast E13: Christmas Traditions youtu.be/HD_t-zbWxV0

In this episode we talk about our Christmas traditions, what we do for Christmas day (and what we did as children) and also hope you'll share your holiday traditions with us if you don't celebrate Christmas in particular. Is there a time of year that you just look forward to so much, you start thinking about it months before-hand? We'd love to hear from you.

#StroongeCast E11: For The Love Of School youtu.be/taDcYc_8jzE

In this episode we talk about our school memories, the trips, the food, the technology, the experiences we had and how they differ from each other.
Andre attended a specialist boarding school for 8 years, where as Kirsten attended an all-girl school. As a result, their memories are very different from one another and there are few common or shared experiences.
From Kirsten's trip to Russia and having to open her suspicious-looking suitcase in the airport which was taped together, to Andre's experience of being left stranded in Reading train station for hours, and having to get a cab to school, this episode is quite a long one.

#StroongeCast E10: Pink Jobs And Blue Jobs
youtu.be/W6Z_Yayyrj8

In this episode we discuss the idea behind 'Pink Jobs' and 'Blue Jobs' with regards their so-called 'traditional' roles in the household.
Blue jobs are traditionally male-centric and Pink jobs are traditionally female-centric in-nature.
Being modern twenty-first-century humans we don't really believe in these designations, but we thought it would be interesting to discuss them anyway.
We're curious what you think about them yourselves.
How do you designate jobs in your house?
If you're living alone ,are all jobs pink and blue?
If you live in a same-sex household, are all jobs one colour?
Of course these aren't at all meant to be taken seriously and we're not here to cause offence, merely to have a little bit of fun with a quite outdated topic.

#StroongeCast E09: I'm Tired Of Being Tired
youtu.be/_0lpmjsPaII?si=dUEIPd…

In this episode we hear from Kirsten about her struggles around anxiety and tiredness, how she copes on a daily basis, and the steps she takes to make it through. We wanted to raise awareness around anxiety and also chronic fatigue, and to let those who may be suffering in silence know they are not alone. Talking to someone you trust and that cares for you, can help. Seeking therapy can also be a viable solution and does not make you weak.

#StroongeCast E07: Jake And Alice youtu.be/Xcckya9tKKs

In this episode we thought we'd bring the kids in for a bit of a chat.
As a blind dad, Andre's had the question several times of 'what's it like to be guided by your son? What do you get up to?'

Jake is very much like his dad, and Alice is very much like her mum, so we say that each of them is a 'Mini Me.'
It works out very well, as we all have someone we can go places with and do fun activities with.
Of course we do go places together as a family, but more often than not, Jake is out with Andre and Alice is out with Kirsten, when such things do arise.

We'd like to do a follow-up episode with Jake and Alice soon, so if you have any questions for them, please let us know.

#StroongeCast E06: Ick-Tock youtu.be/ZGlugVedEwY

In this episode, Kirsten has a collection of "Icks" – annoying habits or traits that would be dealbreakers in a romantic partner.

From chewing with their mouth open, to wearing trousers too low, the list is extensive, unusual and in-places very silly such as 'Not wearing a seat-belt.'.

#StroongeCast E05: Fascinated By Cheese youtube.com/watch?v=a7mf_r0Gze…

In this episode, Kirsten has a collection of husband and wife-related trivia to read to us, and Andre will react to them. He hasn't been prepped ahead of time, so doesn't know what's coming.
Many of these statements are incredibly bizarre and would certainly make for some unusual talking-points around the dinner-table with your partner.
Please tell us your thoughts, and which ones made you laugh, scoff or just say 'What the actual?' we'd love to know.

#StroongeCast E04: How You Met Your Other: youtu.be/kqgFs_TpyXU

In this episode, we read out three stories submitted by listeners.
If you'd also like to have your say, please get in touch.

We'd like to send our Thanks to Richard and Pascale, Tara and Scott and Amy and Sam for sending in their 'How You Met Your Other' stories for us to talk about. They were all extremely special and we also offer our congratulations to Amy and Sam for their happy news.
It was also Alice's 12th birthday last Saturday, and she got quite the surprise hidden in her homemade birthday cake.

#StroongeCast E03: How Gumtree Changed Our Lives youtu.be/faOlpNmyGkU?si=QaSyQt…

In this episode, we discuss how the website Gumtree changed our lives and brought us together, how people can be good and bad sighted guides, perception of relationships, having things in common or not, and how children learn to understand the needs of their parents from a young age.
Gumtree for our American listeners could be considered to be a bit like your Craigs list perhaps.

#StroongeCast E02: Orange Responses (and then some) youtu.be/vfoXyuk-qmg

In this episode, we answer comments left by you the listeners, and also discuss our relationship, how long we've been together, more on tactility, family acceptance and sleeping on different sides of the bed.

#StroongeCast E01: Will You Peel My Orange? youtu.be/XeVO8pTfrK8

We know there are so many podcasts, so why another one?
Well, partly because we can but partly because we hope to be interesting and thoughtful, if at all possible.

In this first episode we discuss one annoying Tiktok trend of asking your significant other to 'peel an orange' and what this actually means.
We also discuss hugging, tactility and our joy of listening to other podcasts.

Did you know: There are many completely *free* sample libraries these days, some could help you end up in writing for your next film, documentary, podcast or TV show?

Andre wrote this piece of intro music for the podcast using purely *free* libraries and nothing else.

Many things end long before the one year mark. Easy to start a show, think 'yeah that'll work' but life gets in the way, you can't commit etc etc, but we've stuck with it and I'm proud we have. Really enjoyed doing this and we have no plans to stop.
Here's to another year of #StroongeCast.

#StroongeCast E54: Growing In Confidence youtu.be/SxtSbkEABzc

In this episode we talk about the fact that it's our one-year anniversary of the podcast, how we think it's gone so far, some of the things we may cover in the future, and how Kirsten has grown in confidence over the last year.
There was a time when she'd have refused to be on mic at all, but doing this weekly has made it easier for her to talk to you.
We also touch on the audio quality of some of our favourite podcasts and how some of them unfortunately fall flat, which is surprising, given the budget that some have access to.

Lastly, a new, personalised birthday greeting should you want it. We're starting up a short audio segment called 'Stroonge Cards' which is a personalised greeting from your friends over at StroongeCast that sounds similar to the podcast.
If you'd like such a greeting yourself, please get in-touch to tell us when your special day is, so we can record it for you.
This of course doesn't go out on the podcast itself, it will be sent to you directly.

Friday's episode of the podcast I do with my wife was a really fun one. Bit of a nostalgia trip, talking about things we collected as kids like Tamagotchis, Furbies and so on. If you haven't checked us out yet, please do. Might be something you enjoy. 51 episodes in and my wife and I talk about all sorts, never political, no sponsors, no ads, hopefully very little wasted time. If you've a mind, please pass it along as well, never know who's out there, who might be looking for something brand new to listen to.

#StroongeCast E38: Animal Encounters Of The Stroonge Kind... youtu.be/Zgzln4bK2Mk

In this episode we discuss all sorts of Stroonge animal encounters from our own experiences, and those submitted by you.
From a sneaky sneezing rat, to a late-night horse-encounter, to a squirrel squirreling itself away behind the radiator, it's all here.

Thanks to all the contributors that submitted stories for this episode.

#StroongeCast E37: Busses And Birthdays youtu.be/2i8d50Et9wE

In this episode we discuss Andre's birthday and those he shares a birthday with, and hear about some of the crazy experiences Kirsten has had on busses this week and in-general.
If you have an unusual public transport story of your own, please share with us.
For next week's episode we're also looking for your stroonge animal encounters, be they scary, funny, completely mind-boggling or anything else in-between.

For an upcoming episode of our podcast #StroongeCast, @MoonCat and I want to know about things you say you'd *never* do, until circumstances dictate you just might have to, in order to survive.

I said I'd never eat dog food. The thought makes me feel sick honestly, but would I stick to that if that was literally all we had left?

Go wild with your suggestions, we'll try to readout as many as we can in the episode.

#StroongeCast E34: We Don't Care To Swear youtu.be/NF_JqqZPu0A

In this episode we discuss a youtube comment that we received on the previous episode, complaining that our lack of bad language made the podcast essentially unlistenable, and that 'there's no such thing as bad language' so swearing is a must. Naturally, we're here to refute this.

Download: onj.me/media/stroongecast/34_-…
@MoonCat

Whingy comment on my latest podcast episode:

'Not really a fan of this stuff. I miss the old keyboard and instrument reviews and the musical breakdowns. The problem with this podcast is that you're both too polite and soft spoken and all that. Try getting a bit angry and controversial. There is no such thing as bad language, so where is all the swearing? You can't make a good podcast episode without some swearing.'

Gonna keep posting weekly with my wife @MoonCat, so if you'd like to check it out (despite the no swearing) search for StroongeCast wherever you get your podcasts.
Also, our web page is here: onj.me/stroongecast

Let's boost for reach because comments like that just make me want to promote it even more.

If I have to spend my life catoring to everyone else, I'll never do anything for myself, and that's just boring. #StroongeCast

My wife Kirsten @MoonCat and I started a podcast last September and we're having fun with it. Over 16 hours and 31 episodes in, we've covered topics such as:
How we first met.
Never going to sleep on an argument.
Double standards in a relationship.
The tech from our childhood.
Banning mobile/cellular phones in our children's schools.
The incorrect pronunciation of our names.
Our 16th wedding anniversary and much more.

We don't have sponsors, don't do ads, and none of what we say is scripted. It's raw, it's us and we hope you like it. Our only method of reaching new listeners like you is word-of-mouth so please do share if you've a mind to do so.

We're a blind sighted couple, I'm blind and she's fully-sighted, so we come at this from two quite different walks of life.

#StroongeCast E20: Synaesthesia youtu.be/gXaB9zsvhwE

In this episode we discuss the fascinating topic of Synaesthesia.

Andre's version of Synaesthesia involves being able to feel certain days of the week, and also some numbers.
Listen as we delve into this, and also some comments from a Mastodon thread Andre created to discover just how many others he might know that have it too.

Hello Stroongers!
Here's part two of #StroongeCast where we answer some user comments about us as a couple, expound more upon the peeling of the orange, discuss our respective mother-in-laws, talk about whether hugging is more of a cultural thing perhaps, and get interrupted twice.

PS. Stick around until *after* the closing music for a little outtake...
