It is funny to be back in the place where I used to live for most of my life. Having been away for so long, I have all kinds of emotions: some positive, some negative. The mixture leaves me puzzled. Now, reflecting on them, I decide to concentrate on the positive ones. I have no use for the other ones. These are mainly ghosts from the past. Styria is lovely, the weather is perfect, it smells fantastically, and a school kid even fell in love with my Brompton.

Day 4 of my #retirement #bikepacking tour on #Brompton folding #bike : Milano -> Lodi - 42 km, half of it stop-and-go in the suburbs of #Milano . 3 #ghostbikes within 1 km in the small village of Dresano. I dedicate this stage to all the #cyclers who were killed on the road.

Letošní #solarbike #solarpunk experiment sice začal zatím nejefektivnější solární nástavbou z hlediska jízdních vlastností a hmotnosti, ale taky zkratem step-up modulu... protože plastová krabička, do které jsme s kolegou dali druhý modul pro step-down na napětí USB, byla ve skutečnosti pokovená a tudíž vodivá - což nás mělo napadnout... Takže změna plánu z dálkové cykloturistiky na vlak a baťoh...

Ale dlouhodobě bych solární #bikepacking viděl jako perspektivní. Správně umístěné panely za jezdcem, které nezasahují do proudu vzduchu aerodynamiku klasického kola zlepšují, ne zhoršují (vypozorováno při jízdě z kopce). Tohle konkrétní uspořádání navíc vypadá trochu jako TIE fighter 😉
