I added my first doorbell camera on #OpenStreetMap today with @MapComplete, and I would advise others to do the same in their area!
Doorbell cameras are a growing surveillance measure many are still unaware of. On OSM, there's a tag to mark a camera as being a doorbell camera: camera:type=doorbell
. They're especially easy to add via MapComplete.

So back to the doorbell cam, what should someone do with this info? "Sorry Clara i'm not visiting you because you have a doorcam?"

You mention that you primarily use OSM for navigation or checking locations – which is totally valid. But others use the data for much more. What might seem like “useless” information to one person can be highly valuable to someone else.
Some of us find it valuable to understand the extent of surveillance in public spaces. Mapping cameras helps visualize how much we're being watched – and where.
