GNOME sdk/platform 46beta is available on Flathub :gnome: :flatpak:

Time to update manifests, dependencies, and test 🧪

Things I am most excited about for developers:

• libadwaita adaptive dialogs
• GLib/Gio docs in Biblioteca
• WebP image support
• GtkAccessibleText
• Accessible WebKitGTK
• libmanette Gamepads API

@tbernard I’m curious, how does actually an engineer just start contributing to GNOME? Are there any first good steps besides reading a ton of C code?

@dottorblaster @tbernard

Reading a ton of C code doesn't sound like a good first step :)

Plus there is a lot of different programming languages in use

Checkout

• Workbench https://flathub.org/apps/re.sonny.Workbench

I got involved initially by making an app and hanging around.

@tbernard it doesn’t scare me tho! I already contributed code to NewsFlash, happy to see that listed in the GNOME apps list 😄 then I’ll just try making something new, reading the welcome pages and hang around, thank you!
