@thunderbird hi, in older versions of thunderbird, you were able to remove the lightning extention. in these current versions of thunderbird, this is not possible. I don't use the calander functionallity at all, could there be away of disableing this? this would also declutter the ui, for screen reader users such as myself. I would be very greatful if you could look in to this? also I have 20000 email messages on average, when that many messages are in a single folder, thunderbird getts laggy, could this also be looked in to?

Hi, and thanks for your feedback! The calendar function is now built into Thunderbird, instead of being a separate extension. And for the lag issue, we recommend logging a support question on support.mozilla.org. Also, one of our team recommends this mailing list made by and for screenreader users! groups.io/g/thunderbird/

@Majid Hussain Are you on @Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox 115 or more up to date version like 121 beta? At least on linux handling really huge email folders has improved dramatically. I have some folders with more than 10000 email messages inside. For a test I have navigated a folder with more than 70000 messages. Also calendar controls can be hidden from the main window so I am not seeing its presence as a screen reader issue at all.
I am using thunderbird with orca on linux.
Can you try to describe your issues in slightly more details please?

@modulux Thanks for this consise description. I am definatelly not seeing something like this on linux. I have a folder with more than 300000 unread messages in my gmail account. I haven't got this synced as a whole meaning this is remote IMAP folder. Arrowing over this folder in the folder tree takes about two seconds here. Oh yes and I do know 300000 unread messages is not something an average user might have.
