Google is crushing Tuta via search results.

Intentional or not, as a gatekeeper #Google must offer fair competition for our private email service Tuta Mail - a direct competitor to #Gmail.

Google must stop its abuse of power which is in violation of the EU #DMA.

We are calling on Google to look into these issues with search results. Please pass this on!

I I'm not saying the problem here. If I put in tuta as the search term, tuta.com or tutanota comes up at the top of the list.
in reply to Tuta

It does seem to vary. I'm in the UK and putting Tuta login or Tutanota login in a Google search puts you at the top.
Entering "secure email provider" only returns oblique references to you. However, this is no different if you enter the same search in DuckDuckGo

The real questions should be : why do you even keep on bothering with Google's ad machine and why don't you just promote real search engines instead ?! 🤔

We are promoting alternatives, also here on Mastodon. But as long as people use Google Search, it's important for us that they can find us there...

uuuhhh… tbh this seems like google is just being predictably inconsistent (because it sucks) rather than targeting you, but best of luck improving your ranking 🤘

Top result here (UK) when I search for "tuta login" or "tutanota login".

Proton VPN has the same issue. All of its VPN Plus servers in our country will trigger a "captcha" when doing even a simple Google search.

Not sure it is Proton's problem or Google's problem.

Google is attacking hard on VPN and Privacy the past few weeks. Not just in search, but also YouTube and such. Have a few friends who use VPN for privacy reasons like myself (but with much much smaller threat models) and even they have told me Google is starting to drive them away. It's only a matter of time before this giant kills itself... 🤞

EU is too occupied to harass apple because their randomized browser screen do not show all browser in the universe, DMA like GDPR is useless and used to force the goal of EU (and also reinforce the monopoly of google on the web by breaking the safari lock on ios).

I have to confirm that you are in the top results at google.com, google.de and google.co.jp if you search for "tutanota". When I search for "tuta", I also get tuta-me" and other results. Searching for "encrypted email provider" gives sites that compare such services and tuta is included there.

So... maybe they fixed the issue already.
