Just an idea: when implementing Gossip, you could add an automatic key "verification" based on the number of DIFFERENT sources an identical key comes from:
So when Alice gets Bobs key from Bob himself and Charly and David it's much more trustworthy than from Bob alone.
The max verification still should be a fingerprint check. But as an indicator such automatic check would work nicely.
