The first Thunderbird 115 beta is now available, so if you're already running beta, please update.

This Thunderbird Beta includes the first "Supernova" UI features, which provide an updated user interface, designed to be more modern, customizable, and with code that is easier to maintain and improve.

Hello! Is the « Supernova » UI activated by default? I've just downloaded the latest beta and I don't have the new interface…
in reply to arcdaniel

@arcdaniel We're getting VERY close to offering our own ESR and Beta Flatpak channels, but Beta might not happen until after 115 officially releases.
in reply to Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox

so the actual flatpak beta is not official? One of the only problems with flatpak, that it is hard to see if it is from an official source (I'm on KDE) @kde @FlatpakApps
in reply to arcdaniel

@arcdaniel @kde @FlatpakApps Currently it's not, but the wheels are in motion for us to take ownership of it. Should be very, very soon.

card view on the message pane starts to look damn good !!!

wondering...
will this alter an existant profile?
I'd use it for my daily accounts, but would need to make sure I can roll back to the default TB version if something goes wrong...

let's go!!! :apartyblobcat: :ablobcatbongogoogly: may it be a smooth release! Looking forward to syncing accounts when it drops as well, especially with K9

Looking really good! Was waiting for the tag view, so really happy to have that now. I see that Thunderbird beta is now up on Flathub, though not yet at 115. Is the beta maintained on Flathub or is manual install the way to go for the betas?
in reply to andy

Ok, ignore the Flathub question. Hadn’t refreshed on the earlier comments 🙃
in reply to andy

@ams No worries! We actually have an internal Flatpak build running pretty smoothly, now it's just a matter of completing the ownership transfer at Flathub.

We're close, and sorry it's taking so long. But we're sincerely looking forward to offering timely Beta Flatpak options soon!

in reply to Fernando Briano

Implementing it takes some time. The final version will ship with the stable release of 115. But we're planning to have a separate icon for Beta and Daily (like Firefox does) and those aren't even finalized yet.

Love the enthusiasm though!

That sounds cool! I'll be looking forward to it. I really like the classic logo, but the new one will look amazing next to Firefox :)
Thank you for your reply!

Hi @thunderbird! This is great news.

Is there a way to get the Beta and/or the Nightly versions via Flatpak/Flathub? If yes, how?

Thanks a lot ❤️

in reply to nemo

@nemo Typically, our goal is to be in sync with Firefox's ESR schedule, but 115 might come a bit after that. Our target is still July, though.

Please fix caldav tasks management and notifications. They are an absolute pain in Thunderbird and the main reason why i'm considering to switch.

looks great.

Is there a way to not select the next message when archiving the current one?

This is starting to look amazing. Pretty impressed with the transformation from what it was a year or so ago to today! 👏

Is there a beta for debian-based systems? It would be great if there would be a repo for .deb-files, so apt can install it.
