Is the little lock icon on the inboxes new? I have never noticed it before. Does that stand for the availability of a private PGP key? Looks very good so far. Can't wait until the new design comes in the stable branch.

my only criticism: that yellow is not a good idea on a tag in light mode :blobcatgiggle:

Amazing work overall, I can't wait to try it!

in reply to ator robot

@ator Totally agree! Just so you know, I added that tag and customized the color (dark mode user here) -- it's not a default.

Awesome, good to know! I remember the stable Thunderbird before current where my system's solarised dark mode looked horrible with the default purple folders, so I had to keep changing their colour manually (and for a long time the colour would be wrong on startup until I unfocused and refocused the window) - I was very happy when those shenanigans were over :blobcat:

Definitely happy to have the team putting more focus on reworking legacy code - a sincere thank you from someone who won't stand for any less benevolent an email solution (:

Hearing you loud and clear. We should have our own internally packaged and maintained Beta releases on Flathub this summer.

The new UI is so great. Excellent job everyone! I’m a happy user of the beta channel since many years, and the recent updates just rock 🤘🏼.

Does new Thunderbird have anything yet where you can press a shortcut key and just start typing the name of a folder to move messages to? That's a huge part of my workflow. I used the Nostalgy extension to accomplish that back in the day, and it's the biggest concern I have about possibly coming back home to Thunderbird from Postbox.

Great work lately on giving Thunderbird some much-needed love, by the way! It's looking good!

I noticed the protonmail folder in the pictures. Does that mean that proton bridge will be a part of thunderbird?
in reply to Vudú

@vudu That's just a real ProtonMail account that is in use on the machine used to grabbing screenshots.
Unfortunately, Bridge won't be included in Thunderbird.

Tried the beta a couple of weeks ago: New mail was bold blue, read mail is bold black in the new list. Was that a quirk I experienced? Is there a setting to tweak this? I'd rather have read mail non-bold & faded - not rely solely on color.

I noticed that Thunderbird has it's own folder with Proton, Google and Apple. Does this mean that Thunderbird will be a new email provider?
in reply to Islamic Audiobooks Central

@islamicaudiobooks This was a way of illustrating that Thunderbird supports adding those email providers. (You'd be surprised how many people don't realize they can easily add Gmail, Apple Mail, etc to Thunderbird)
