According to #openstreetmap, there are no Man_made=chimney in #Vatican City... I was wondering where the conclave-#chimney is. Can someone fix?

as far as i know it's not a permanent chimney, it's installed just for the conclave and will be removed.

@textoo that's true, although the hole for the chimney is permanent and can be seen at (41.9029867, 12.4546558), just south of the eastern peak of the Sistine Chapel

@textoo should've said "I think" the hole is permanent. Anyway, some background here: smokemachines.net/papal-smoke.…

Maybe it's god_made=chimney in this case?

man_made=chimney AFAIK is used for industrial chimneys (mainly tall standalone ones) not ones of the sort found in the Vatican.

Reusing the tag for the one on the Sistine Chapel would degrade the semantics of the existing objects tagged man_made=chimney.

This may have already hsppened if someone used it in micromapping houses.

@SK53 Or we can distinguish them using 'height'? This kind of semantic decay is unavoidable IMHO

Notwithstanding that, it needs to be resisted. At some fairly low percentage of a different semantic meaning for the tag, the original meaning is lost catastrophically. The impact is mist significant for analytical uses.
