Hey @matrix and @austin do you (or anyone) know if there's a general purpose Matrix community forum? The sort of place we can get help triaging problems with apps without bothering the devs with a plethora of issue tickets that turn out to be fixable at our end.

We're aware of past efforts to create some general forums for Matrix but none that really attracted the critical mass needed to succeed.

For now, we recommend finding the relevant project's rooms on Matrix. There tends to be a lot of peer support that happens in those rooms, and indeed most issues end up resolved without escalating to opening issues on the project's repository.

Great idea, thanks. Maybe it would help to create a website with a searchable archive of the best of such rooms, presented using a read-only forum layout?

Bonus points for being able to submit questions or help by logging in with a Matrix account.

Oh yes, absolutely. There have been some efforts along those lines in the past, but there were challenges resourcing it. Provided we are able to address our funding challenges, picking something like this up could well end up on our 2025 roadmap!
