Reading about #ChatGPT plug-ins and wondering why this is framed as plug-ins for #ChatGPT (giving it "capabilities") rather than #ChatGPT as a plug-in to provide a conversational front-end to other services.

my interpretation of the word “plug-in“ in association with ChatGPT or any LLM is we, the human, public, free, non-AI Labour provides “a piece of software that enhances the functionality of Chat-GPT” that they make money by: 1. giving them a cut of what your plug-in(s) may make and 2. the further, extended utility of their exclusive platform.
