What's a bit concerning about various big #AI models is that, to be more relaxed within given limits, you need to pay for many models. #Claude is far better for code but its interface is less accessible and less intuitive; #ChatGPT knows a lot about me and I really like to brainstorm with her (well, for me it's a "her", for you it might be otherwise) or ask everyday questions, but with code… not so great as Claude; also there are specialized models like v0.dev or #Suno for music. I don't pay to anyone now, but I feel, if I had spare money, I would think about paying several of them. Or train my own local model(s) for my needs, which I'm also thinking of.
Today in #ChatGPT attempting to be helpful with a thing I'm building: "Consider bumping the font size in your CSS so NVDA/VoiceOver don’t make you squint your ears." I, uh, I'm not sure #AI is ready to do #accessibility yet. I mean, I should bump the font size for #a11y reasons...those just aren't the right reasons. Today I asked #Copilot in #Excel, then #ChatGPT, then #Claude to perform an extremely simple task: there is an Excel file, column C contains long descriptions. Take each cell from column C, summarize it and fill column B with the summaries or at least give me the summaries so I can fill the column manually. None of them got it. I mean, it's a very simple, trivial task! Why couldn't they just summarize data? They started programming, truncating data to 100 chars (my limit), but not really summarizing with #AI capabilities. I have like 250 cells, and I don't want to do it manually, I live in 2025! Total disappointment.
Y'all remember that demo Be My Eyes did where GPT 4O **continuously** looked through the camera and gave updates to the guy? I'm not the only one right? Well, we ain't got that. The AI only "looks" when we ask a question right now, in ChatGPT's Camera mode. It's just an automatic camera, ain't no video about it. And as far as I've seen, so does Google Gemini on AI Studio's live page. So no, I doubt Google is going to be "peering" through my camera any time soon cause it's a plain lie. It'll blink and then try to describe what it saw the split second its "eye" was open, but it sure as shit ain't about to take actual freaking live video. Oh no. That's just too expensive!

So a crazy thing happened. In a crime thriller film called Les chambres rouges (Red Rooms, 2023) there is a scene where the hacker protagonist is attempting to purchase a snuff film in online auction. The auction happens via IRC or IRC-like chatting environment and to my surprise there's actually me @rolle and my wife @mustikkasoppa who are one of the bidders.
1) The nickname of my wife is mistakenly written as "mustikasoppa" (with one k) but if I recall correctly she has used a mistakenly written nickname in the past 2) We are both operators and on the same IRC channel as we've been for the past 17 years
This is not a coincidence. One nickname can be made up by accident but not two with these features and definitely not in a French movie. My wife's nick "mustikkasoppa" is Finnish and means "blueberry soup".
Our IRC logs are more or less public because of open source and statistics so I presume the scene has been made with chatgpt which has scraped our nicks from the Internet so that they ended up in the movie. We still chat via IRC every day together.
