Oddly, got a '502 bad gateway' message by clicking the link in this post.
in reply to Andre Louis

@FreakyFwoof Thanks yes I posted that at the perfect time, didn't I? I'm getting it as well now (though not 14 seconds earlier when I copied the link to put in the post). Chasing it up now.
in reply to NV Access

Why does this page take so much time to load? It's really slow - the opposite of what NVDA itself is <smile>.
in reply to Amir

@amir We are aware of it, and yes, do intend to see what we can do to speed that up - it is slow but generally (touch wood, and apologies about earlier) it usually gets there in the end.
@Amir
in reply to NV Access

Hope it hasn't been triaged with a P3 or P4 label as it means we have to wait either many years or indefinitely to see it fixed <chuckle chuckle>. One of them is here - not mine, but really worth taking care of: github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issue…

@munchkinbear @FluidEscence Well done both of you! And wow, 96%! That's huge!

Munchkinbear
@FluidEscence I didn't do as well as you, but if I could re-take it to get a better score I would... but the last time I took it... Congratulations
You have successfully passed the NVDA Expert 2022 exam, achieving a score of 81%.

@FluidEscence @BorrisInABox Oops indeed! I did see we had a little instability earlier - which didn't last too long, but very frustrating in the middle of the exam. We do apologise!

Patrick Perdue
@FluidEscence BOOM! I got 502 bad gateway at section 11.

NV Access
@JamminJerry @FluidEscence Ah don't sell yourself short - in any case, it is free to sit, so feel free to have a go! :)

JamminJerry
@FluidEscence I would be lucky to get a 30 percent if I were to take that test. lol.

Patrick W
@jyarbrough @TheQuinbox @FluidEscence I think I got a 90 or so percent? Heh. I must do better.
Unknown parent

Quin
@FluidEscence Lmaoooo I remember doing this out of boredom one year too, although you beat me, think I got an 91
in reply to Justin Yarbrough

@jyarbrough @FluidEscence :D keep in mine you're talking to me. I'm utterly obsessed with making my system as efficient as possible, and one of the steps for that was learning all of NVDA's keyboard shortcuts and how to write add-ons. I've also just been using it for years at this point.
in reply to NV Access

@munchkinbear @FluidEscence I only got 92. Or I apparrently got 92, I don't actually remember doing the test. I did the initial certification for 2017, but my employer chose not to pay to recertify after I did it myself initially.
in reply to NV Access

@BrailleScreen @jyarbrough @FluidEscence Maybe I should too, last did mine in late 2022, on my Birthday I believe actually weirdly enough. I'd probably score lower these days, I spend more time in Linux than anything now.
in reply to NV Access

@FluidEscence considering how little I know about things in NVDA, plus I have test anxiety, there you go.
in reply to NV Access

so I got my certification in 2018. I could do it again and donate another 99 bucks. Has the exam been updated? Might be worth doing.
in reply to Martin in Toronto

@mcourcel @bmoore123 It was last updated in 2022. An update will come, but I need to update the Excel module first (the exam doesn't have anything to do with Excel, just that module really needs an update). So, there will probably be a 2025 version of the exam :)
in reply to NV Access

@mcourcel alright, thanks. Will do it again when the new one comes out. Good to be updated.
in reply to Quin

@TheQuinbox @FluidEscence I should take this. I know I'll do badly, because I only use laptop layout so I don't know the desktop or numpad commands. I also never use Office. Still, it'd be fun.
@Quin
in reply to JamminJerry

@JamminJerry @FluidEscence While the test is challenging, it's up to you where you take it - no middle of an auditorium full of other anxious students in silence with a big clock ticking up the front for this one :) If you don't pass at first, you can sit it again with no penalty (after a couple of goes, it encourages you to wait a fortnight, and consider reading through Basic Training for NVDA in the meantime). But we don't want to make anyone feel anxious, so absolutely no stress :)
in reply to NV Access

@TheQuinbox @FluidEscence Sticky keys... When you spill orange juice on your keyboard? I chuckled at this. This test might not be that hard after all.
@Quin

NV Access
@FluidEscence @alexhall @TheQuinbox There are some radio button questions (looking for the one, or in this case "the most" correct question, and some multiple answer (checkbox) questions. For the radio button ones, we tried not to include too many "wrong" answers which might also be "right"
Unknown parent

Alex Hall
@FluidEscence @TheQuinbox I'd argue with a couple already. For instance, the NVDA key is used for commands, but it also silences speech, which is another answer on that question.

@FluidEscence @BorrisInABox @alexhall @TheQuinbox Here's the page: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/wind… specifcially: "[Update - March 2024]: WordPad will be removed from all editions of Windows starting in Windows 11, version 24H2 and Windows Server 2025. " - So I might need to update Basic Training and the Certification exam for that :) And yes, the reason we used WordPad was because not everyone has Microsoft Office / Word - even though that's what they suggest using on the depreciation page.
Unknown parent

Patrick Perdue
@alexhall @FluidEscence @TheQuinbox Isn't Wordpad deprecated now, or about to be?
Unknown parent

Alex Hall
@FluidEscence @TheQuinbox Why do they love Wordpad? I don't think I've ever used it, at least not in a lot of years. Notepad, sure, but does anyone use Wordpad?
@Quin
in reply to Patrick W

@BrailleScreen @TheQuinbox @FluidEscence I re-took it today and got an 87. A pass is a pass in my book. I had that same attitude in high school lol
in reply to Justin Yarbrough

@jyarbrough @BrailleScreen @TheQuinbox @FluidEscence 87 is a great result, congratulations! And I'm very pleased to have just sent your certificate out! We are very happy to have you on board as an NVDA Certified Expert, congratulations, and thank you for your support!
