User interface improvements are in every major #LibreOffice release, thanks to the Design team! Here's what they achieved last year: blog.documentfoundation.org/bl… #opensource

How had I not seen this before? I just set my icon theme to Colibre (SVG + dark) and it looks beautiful! Together with the very space efficient Grouped compact toolbars, LibreOffice now to me has a very up-to-date professional feel :)

@CzuloOliver Great! Feel free to share a screenshot of your setup, to inspire others 😊

Here we go! I love how the colourful CoLibre icon style blends into the Fedora Gnome dark mode, making icons well visible and stylish. The Grouped compact bar gives me icons for the more frequent actions, with additional menus very efficiently placed within the groups and giving access to more actions. This layout is space efficient and works very well on my 13 inch laptop screen.

LibreOffice reshared this.

Nice.
But dear designers don't forget...
A GUI is a special interface, but an interface nonetheless.
And EVERY interface is a contract to which BOTH sides are bound - you don't break contracts!
So please always bring new GUIs OPTIONALLY, because anything else would be a breach of contract!
Especially to ALL designers from ALL software companies out there: respect interfaces, respect the underlying contracts!

Love LibreOffice and have used it for years. Just donated again via PayPal. Only quibble I've had has been with VLOOKUP in Calc. I have set up some of them and they work great, but after making any changes it just shows the command string and doesn't execute again. This has happened most frequently when the software has updated, but not always. Help hasn't been helpful for this. I have tended to use workarounds, but thought someone should know. TY for all you do!!

Wow! TY for the quick response. The problem is with .ods files. I try not to do much with the .xlsx variety, and would never blame LibreOffice for any misbehavior with those. Thanks again.

@WizardBear Hmm, that's strange then! If you have a couple of minutes, and don't mind sharing a file where it happens, you could attach it to a quick bug report at bugs.documentfoundation.org for the QA community to investigate. Thanks!

I'll see if I can reproduce it in a test file. The actual file contains a lot of personal identifiable information, so I can't send that one. Thanks again!
