Following the generous input from our Braille users, we are seeking more feedback. This time we would be very appreciative to hear from users who do or would like to contribute to NVDA in any capacity. Your insights will help us understand the strengths and weaknesses of our contributor documentation, and we will use these insights to make targeted improvements.

If you are interested, please complete the survey at: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

This survey should take around 5 minutes to complete.

There are many ways you can contribute to NVDA. These include (but are not limited to!):

- Translation (UI and user guide)
- Core NVDA software development
- Add-on software development
- Testing NVDA
- Submitting GitHub issues
- Triaging GitHub issues

We would be happy to hear from anyone who does or might be interested in contributing in any way - docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

Can you give me more advice on what you've done with Braille? I think hearing about this will maybe make me use it more, although it sadln doesn't work with my work application. Can you tell me which multi-lines have been tested with the multi-line feature and have had Braille on each line? I realize it's beta. Thanks fordoing it.

@EdenLinnea Of course. So, here is a blog post from early October where we announced the survey (that's closed now but of course we are more than happy for any feedback you have) and highlighted changes from this year and upcoming planned changes: nvaccess.org/post/in-process-8…

And here is a post from a fortnight later with some actions and info from that survey and some more details: nvaccess.org/post/in-process-2…

@EdenLinnea I know we tested with several multi-line Braille displays, but the key is "using a multi-line braille display via HID braille." - as long as you are using HID, it should work on any multi-line display. HID is a newer Braille protocol which is intended to work a bit like "Plug and play" does for other devices in Windows - basically you should be able to use any device (which supports HID) without needing to install specific drivers for that device - just as you can with keyboards.

Ah, okay. I'm not sure which of the multi-lines have Hid.

@EdenLinnea There's really no reason for a manufacturer to come out with a device these days which does NOT support HID. Offhand I don't know if there are any multi-line devices which don't , but if you have a particular device (or have one you are considering), I can certainly find out.
