I obviously am not the definitive voice, but I am more on the side of 2025 being represented in the description since when 2026 rolls around, users may not know what year, exactly, is on the badge whereas anyone with vision (or OCR abilities) can see that without second guessing. Again, it is just my opinion, and I am just one user among many, with just as diverse opinions on the matter.

@twynn Not sure what makes for a definitive voice but if it helps, I've attended and delivered quite a few alt text trainings.

If the badge visually says 2025, the alt text also needs to convey 2025 otherwise it's not a full visual description.

For example, if someone was using an outdated badge and the alt text didn't mention the specific year, a blind user wouldn't pick up on that. @NVAccess
