We're runner-up in the "best podcast app" vote by @9to5google staff!

We're super proud to be able to provide such (ad-free) experience as a bunch of podcast enthusiasts doing it in their spare time.

We also fully acknowledge the room for improvement regarding discovery & sync.
Combining discovery & privacy is a challenge. Right now we rely on data from Apple Podcasts' API. An improved version based on Podcast Index data is definitely on our wishlist.
Luckily OPML import will get you started!

I ditched Pocketcasts for AntennaPod just a months ago and I never looked back. The most advanced function I'm loving so far is cross device synching powered by the #gpoddersync #nextcloud app and my desktop podcast client #kasts. It works like a charm: I can start listening to an episode on my desktop and continue were I left off on my android phone using AntennaPod. Amazing. Thank you guys for this wonderful piece of software!

I love AP, I use it weekly. Issues to me are:
- in audio ads: we need a kind of @sponsorblock for podcasts
- privacy: it seems like, even if i haven't consented to anything, the url of the RSS file or the URL AP will use to download the audio are under surveillance. Guess I'll have to set up a Tor proxy for AP or something 😔

You are the best in my list. I did have some issues in my old Moto X4 running Android 9, but AntennaPod runs flawlessly in my new phone. I wish you could implement multiple playlists in future release but am very happy with what AntennaPod has already provided.

Congratulations! Also, you’re one of the four choices at https://podnews.net/article/podcast-app-recommendations too.

And that's before the podcast:transcript implementation 💪

¿Cuándo se podrá contestar a los pódcast directamente desde la aplicación?, me refiero a poner un agradecimiento o consultarles algo sobre lo que se habla en el pódcast, es una pena que AntennaPod no tenga esta opción.

congratulations. 🙂
I've been a happy Antenna Pod user for three years now. Thank you for all the hard work.

Would love to see a recent active users graph if you have one

@js
Is this (MAU graph in the header) what you might be looking for?

Note that that's just via Google Play, and that we can't know about users via F-Droid.

Exactly - but with the x axis extended out to after April 2nd!
in reply to John Spurlock

@js
We don't have that yet. Most recent data Google is showing is March 28th – good enough?
What do you want to use it for, if we may ask? Cross-check with/extrapolate data from OP3?
in reply to AntennaPod

Oh no rush, maybe end of next week or end of month to cover the post Apr 2nd fallout period?

Just pure curiosity - I'm wondering where US Google Podcasts actually end up going. And you have a front row seat!

in reply to John Spurlock

@js
We now have data past the US end of Google Podcasts. Still going up afterwards it seems.
in reply to AntennaPod

Excellent! Thanks for sharing

Curious how it looks at the end of the month!

@fell @js
Was wondering the same. Why the dip, and why the very abrupt reversal?

Just a matter of curiosity of course.

@hybridhavoc
We see such dips more often, in different types of graphs (not only MAU). It's unclear to us as well, and we suspect there's just something odd in the way Android systems report back to Google.
