IV"E never really known what that synth is, great for. i've heard noises from it, but, what does it... do.

@cordova5029 Not sure on mac, but on windows it's usable with object navigation. At least when I had it. There're 3 lists: bank, category and preset. Also a search box. If you end up purchasing it, make sure that You grab enough expansions since nexus doesn't let You to craft Your own sounds, it's essentially a rompler, meaning it comes with decent amount of sounds, but the tradeoff is the inability to make any of Your own as You might do in other synths. @Thaqib what is it good for? like what styles? like is it a multipurpose bread and butter synth, or is it mroe specialized?

@cordova5029 As I said, it's basically a rompler. Which come with diverse sounds. Nexus has most of em, but expansions need to be purchased obviously.

@Thaqib oh I know what you mean. BUt, in general like, what would it be best for doing. I'm a too many styles producer person, so if I were to acquire it, what would I find? IS it more like a modern hypersonic, or more specialized and modern, and pop and EDM? Are there demos, that show what it is capable of?

@cordova5029 Yes, it's kinda like modern hypersonic. And of course yes. The demos were on Youtube and other platforms.

@Thaqib you might know what I mean by this. IS there a... nexis sound? YOu know how there's a roland or korg or yamaha, or Casio sound? is there a... nexis sound? LIke, there's even a silinth sound. I"ve been listening to music for almost 34 years activlly. :) I like too many different styles of music, everything from country to world music.

@cordova5029 There might be something in the sounds which probably make them recognisable. However, I think because there're a lot of sounds involved, it most probably will have a resemblance to one or another sound from a different developer haha. They've tried to Make the sounds unsigned, well kinda. Unless the expansion is based on some theme or something. Sorry This is what I understood. Apologies if I wasn't able to provide a satisfactory answer.

@Thaqib oh, yoru'e good mate, all good. I jsut wondered if there's a comparable/ sound like does it kinda say... this is this. Demention pro is kinda steingberg but oder, for example, and is it's own thing, but if you know the sound, you can go, ooh, yeah tha'ts demention pro

@cordova5029 From some loops may be, but with playable patches, It's kinda hard to discern.

@Thaqib @cordova5029 Nexus was used all over pop/EDM in the 2010s and likely even now. Worth noting that in Nexus 5 you can design sounds from scratch, and it's really quite powerful. I'm getting it today, was on a Discord call last night with someone who had it and it seems like they did a decent job with accessibility, still think it's a work in progress but you can do quite a lot even now.

@cordova5029 @Thaqib Oh you've heard it for sure. It's kinda a must have if you do pop from what I understand. You don't have to use the presets though, like I said you can import your own samples and they even have things like VA and FM synthesis. The starter version comes with like 5000 sounds out of the box, but I'm thinking I'll get like one or two packs for it as well.

@Thaqib I don't usually produce pop, but I bet I"d find Xander noises in there. I'm a huge fan of r&b and new jack swing from the 90's, and stuff like that. I can try my hand at a little bit of everything, but I'm an old school producer. NOt tha ti wouldn't try pop, but my wheelhouse is 90's r&b, and related. Little dashes of other stuff, but that's what i grew up listening to and wanted to learn how to do... so I did it.

@cordova5029 @Thaqib Oh for sure, it's a rompler at heart, and many of those late90s/early2000 tracks used stuff like that. Depending on the expansions you get, you'll have access to similar stuff in Nexus. They've got quite a few vintage synth packs that sample real hardware.
