On this day seven years ago I got A FRICKING GOLD MEDAL for my work on #curl. Real. Proper. Gold. From the hands of the Swedish king.

is it cooler that "the king gave you a medal" or that you have live code running on other planets? :D

@Viss they're hard to compare as they are so different. I just enjoy them both immensely.

It is well deserved. Still, most open source maintainers won't get such gratitudes, even if they deserve just as well.

Thank you for creating something that I use dozens-to-hundreds of times each day in scripted format, command-line format, and hidden-in-other-tools format!

I couldn't do what I do without #curl

Again, thank you! And congratulations!

Well deserved, curl is one of the most important and influential software tools ever created.

TIL Sweden has a king πŸ€”

as many of your followers I didn't know about that deserved recognition.

But I also came noting something:

> My eleven year old son truly appreciates this museum so we ...

So that kid is not longer a kid, but a grown person!

I'm pretty sure they is proud of their dad!

I would say it is well deserved as I can’t imagine a day without curl. (Honestly, I use it every day…)

Public appreciation for Free Software is such a rare thing. I am glad you received it at least once. Too few people realize that #curl practically runs the Internet – much like Apache & nginx, but on the client side.

There should be more #ILoveFreeSoftware days, medals, and other forms of appreciation.

can he hug or is he one of those guys who hit you in the back repeatedly just to let everyone know they are heterosexual?
