Well actually, even if you do turn it off it usually just turns itself back on. I know some applications use the DRM function To make sure it doesn't take screenshots but that has its own downsides.

It's annoying that I need to have a windows laptop around. It's the only way to get updates to my synthesizers, bc no Linux workarounds. Even more annoyed that I have to install M$ spyware next fall, so this tip is much obliged.

THX for this one, even if I did switch away decades ago, first to OS/2 and the to Linux, with a two/three year stunt in MacOS 'cos they had the cooler laptops but I never felt home there.

If you have a Windows version that supports running gpedit.msc (i.e. Group Policy without AD-server), then open from there "Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows AI​" and turn everything off that you do not want. You can also disable Copilot from gpedit.msc. These changes apply to all users of the PC/Laptop.
But of course, moving to Linux is always a better choice.

I figured out one way to turn it off and have it stay off. I overwrote windows with Linux and I'm not going back.

I left Windows a couple of months ago and I regret nothing. My son on the other hand wanted to stay with windows, upgraded and is complaining ever since.
