As Jonathan Mosen noted in his hearing aid review, the Bluetooth audio latency is bad enough to be annoying, but not intolerable. Perhaps once all of our devices are replaced by hardware supporting Bluetooth LE Audio, this problem will finally go.

I have a hearing impairment that was first identified in primary school, and which may have always been present. My first hearing aids (large, not especially comfortable, analogue devices, circa 1990) truly sat in a drawer, as the cliche about hearing aids has it. They amplified everything in ways that made me feel uncomfortable.
I am now revisiting hearing aid technology for the first time. Modern, digital devices are a vast improvement, although, for a totally blind person, they can bring unique accessibility challenges.

Thanks to Jonathan Mosen on the @podcast Living Blindfully podcast for an informative review of
Phonak's hearing aid technology. I am currently in a trial of Phonak devices, and Jonathan's helpful review coheres with my experience. I haven't yet tried any of the accessories, such as remote microphones, that are also addressed in the review.
