Here's the options for the #SFFBookClub book poll for February.
I've added two books from this best of 2024 list: esquire.com/entertainment/book…
The SFFBookClub is our informal fediverse science fiction and fantasy book club. Everyone reading this is welcome to participate. We vote on a book, read said book, and then discuss and review on the #SFFBookClub hashtag over the course of the month. Feel free to jump in if one of these books catches your eye even if you haven't joined before. Wiki link with past books: sffbookclub.eatgod.org
If you have suggestions for books to consider for future months, comments, or complaints please reply below or send me a DM. As always, feel free to argue for your favorite book in the comments. Longer book descriptions are in the reply toot below.
The 30 Best Sci-Fi Books of 2024
This year’s best sci-fi outings are full of questions about how we might live differently with one another, on our troubled planet or in the farthest reaches of space.Molly Templeton (Esquire)
- Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell (50%, 1 vote)
- Power to Yield by Bogi Takács (0%, 0 votes)
- Those Beyond the Wall by Micaiah Johnson (50%, 1 vote)
- Time's Agent by Brenda Peynado (0%, 0 votes)
For February: both new options are titles that have been rumoured to have been censored out of the Hugos. I haven't been following that controversy closely enough to know how solid the evidence is, but they both sound interesting anyway so I figured I'd include them: harpercollins.com/products/bab… & xiranjayzhao.com/index.php/boo…
As usual, please vote, and replies to advocate for one of the choices or suggest future picks are always very welcome.
Advance notice for March: that will be the next Sequels Month purely because I have some travel coming up that will make keeping up with a poll more hassle than usual.
