Another hot week here in the North Carolina has got me dreaming for fall colors. I would definitely love to add more autumn images to my portfolio.

Лесные коньки! Как же великолепно они поют в лесной акустике. С самого детства их пение тесно связано с чащей. Младший брат моего деда работал на совхозной пасеке, которая находилась в центре небольшого леса. Я часто оставался ночевать в его избушке. Просыпался рано утром, дед уже работал с пчёлами, а я открыв окно бодрился от лесной прохладной свежести, которая моментально наполняла избу.

А потом уходил бродить и слушать птиц. Лес был чистый и светлый. И где-то в кронах деревьев заливался своей чудесной песней конёк. Как же это было здорово! Птиц было много, но именно он остался в моей памяти как главный певец утренней лесной чащи.

A swan on what looks like a collision course – taken as I was standing, apparently in a good spot for flying over, on a hill next to the lake it took off from. It was gaining altitude faster than it was closing the distance, so this didn't feel quite as perilous as it might appear!

There is a feather out of place.

I like the way the crest looks on this female northern cardinal. I didn't notice the odd feather on the wing until I started processing the photograph. It makes me wonder if something happened or did, I just catch her before her all fixed up for the day. A fun thing about spring is everything turns green, a really nice background for bird photos.
