Huh, I was wrong. #Harlowe does support custom macros now. This is going to make my life so much easier.

#IF #InteractiveFiction #TextGames

Looking into this #twine tooling for making an interactive story. Using the #Harlowe format, unfortunately it seems a it lacking in, let's say, traditional programming facilities. No user-defined functions for example. I'm using a little trick of making fake rooms without text and calling them through the display macro, to change the value of variables or do replace on hooks. I'm guessing this is intended to make the language more accessible to new IF writers, but it also makes it harder on people who have some programming background.
