Coming up in February: #LibreOffice 24.2, our next big update, with many new features! (And a new "year.month" version scheme, to make it clear when it was released.) The first Beta version is now available for testing: https://qa.blog.documentfoundation.org/2023/12/13/libreoffice-24-2-beta1-is-available-for-testing/ #foss #OpenSource

LibreOffice reshared this.

How have we jumped from version 7.x to 24.2 or have I missed or not understood something?
in reply to LibreOffice

https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/?version=24.2.0

Pour l'installation,
https://www.numetopia.fr/installer-libreoffice-sur-ubuntu/#methode_4_installer_la_derniere_version_de_libreoffice_sur_ubuntu_depuis_les_installeurs_telecharges

Dézipper et lancer « sudo dpkg -i *.deb » dans les répertoires DEBS

@jeffcliff No, that's not the current version. The current version of LibreOffice is 7.6. As the post to which you're replying already says, from the next major release (in February) we're moving to a "year.month" version scheme – like many other projects use – to make it clear to users how old/new their software is.

@jeffcliff We actually listen to our users, and they tell us that a version number scheme that reflects when the software was released is important to them.
