With #Microsoft introducing #Recall which will screenshot your screen to monitor all activities on your device, this begs the question...

What #Linux distro will you be switching to?

in reply to Tuta

i already have last century. Distro hopped, now Debian approaching 15 years.

I use archlinux.

Lately I installed on my wife's computer fedora and used flatpack (through Gnome Software) to install all the applications.

So far we are both happy with fedora. I just hope the system upgrade will be easy...

No need to switch, here.

My Family has been using either #Ubuntu (2 computers) or #OpenSuse #TumbleWeed (5 computers) - for some years now.

#Yast enabled my family members to do a lot of things for themselves without great further knowledge (or - gasp - the command line), e.g. installing a printer.

I'll be switching my laptop to Pop!_OS later today
in reply to Tuta

I'm a month in to a switch to Linux Mint. So far it does everything I need.
in reply to Tuta

I've currently switched to Zorin OS because I want to use it for the family to switch.

Work dev box will be going to Ubuntu from another distro, house NAS will be too.
Nothing else cracks the reliability and support threshold, and I'm sorry Mint is just Ubuntu tuned up.

New music machine will be going to Windows (10 pro if I can avoid 11) because I'm done with Linux music and audio.

Appropriate environments for target use cases.

I've experimented with MX and it's good but not 100% there. Might give Fedora a try again but only experimentally, not on important boxen.

moved to debian linux a few months ago, happy to say I don't want to move back. 🙂
in reply to Tuta

probably #mint as last time I ran Linux it seemed fairly stable and user friendly. #ubuntu is another one that gets recommended for ease of use. Way back I remember using #centOS for a uni project.

Can anyone recommend a disto known to work well with on a Surface tablet?

I built my first computer 24 years ago and installed linux. The last version of Windows I used at home was 95.
in reply to Tuta

using @fedora silverblue thinking to switch to some @ubuntu when they release a immutable variant.
in reply to Tuta

none... Even though I love Linux, I can't work with it, Windows is my must go tool. They will definitely fix that somehow
in reply to Tuta

I'm looking forward to giving KDE Neon a brand new shot.
in reply to Tuta

self-compiled vim on self-compiled kernel with self-compiled userland. heh
in reply to Tuta

None. I haven’t used Windows in decades. I run an (apparently obscure) offshoot of BSD called macOS.
in reply to Tuta

I started using Linux in about 2003.
I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop at home, all Linux.
Mint is my main OS, but I have at least 6 other Linux OS on KVM
I change those ones out often because I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.. 😂 😂

Switched to GNU/Linux about 20 years ago and as time goes by and Windows is becoming more and more enshittified bloated spyware and adware it is becoming more and more obvious switching to GNU/Linux was one of the smartest and best computer-related things I did. Currently I'm using openSUSE Tumbleweed with KDE Plasma desktop and loving it.
in reply to Tuta

I already am using Linux Mint for my computer and Zorin for my laptop.
