Let's see why Foobar is "the best player on Earth." Now that I grew up a bit and actually know English better because when I was younger, I couldn't do crap with it. Or it just wasn't that good. :D
It's okay, but I really, really shouldn't be the average user who only wanted a player with keyboard shortcuts and built-in playback rate, and got Foobar. So downloading plugins is a pain, their website sucks.
@Winter blue tardis🇧🇬ðŸ‡ðŸ‡º @Sajtos Lángos What does ssuck about foobar2000.org website? I think they are using standard HTML, components are listed in a table that can be sorted. Components can be listed by their tags. I must say I like the exclusive and rather simple design of that site.
@Winter blue tardis🇧🇬ðŸ‡ðŸ‡º @Sajtos Lángos Oh, I am not mac guy at all. There's foobar 2000 for mac. Originally I have assumed it's a windows app repackaged to run on mac with some kind of emulation but now while looking at the changelog I can see it has dedicated mac os specific UI. I don't know the status of voiceover accessibility but I would be interested to know how it goes if you are adventurous to try it out. foobar2000.org/mac
It uses standard controls so works well with VO, the problem is that it is not feature complete compared to the Windows version. No converter, CD ripping for example, you are expected to map hotkeys via the Mac preferences instead of having that feature available in Foobar itself, etc. Also some unlabelled buttons in the main window. I might be missing something, but these are the main issues.
@Erion @Winter blue tardis🇧🇬ðŸ‡ðŸ‡º Yes, that's nice to hear. Given the fact Peter is working on it all the time, it's verry likelly to improve for the future. The latest preview version is a few days old. and the changelog lists internet radio improvements, playlist management improvements, UI and layout fixes, ability to build addons similar how addons are built for the windows version including UI elements, file operations, upnp output, album list, library, selection properties... To me it appears as he is trying to reuse as much as original foobar code as possible slowly making it all work seamlessly on mac.
