Step 5: DeGoogle your videos

Stop using #YouTube - or if you need to watch videos on the Google platform, do so via @invidious or @peertube

@openstreetmap also- best apps that use OSM are Organic Maps, Magic Earth, and OSMAnd for phones.

@openstreetmap - Challenge I have faced - I have yet to find an open source or other "free" alternative that is as accurate as Google Maps. Might be good in cities - but I tend to focus on "road less traveled"

I use the app OSMand on my smartphone. Works also as a navigation app. Useful for all kind of individual traffic. Even for pedestrians 😊😉 Works offline!

what do you think of the @Vivaldi browser? Admittedly, it also uses the Chromium engine but they seem dedicated to making it private

@alavi Hi there! Going completely Google free is tough. Thank you for the insight - we appreciate the feedback and different perspective.

When are you going to give us a Photos and Drive service? Untill then, can't replace Google.
in reply to abhishek

@abhishek That doesn't mean you can't degoogle the other things. I still use maps, but have stopped using gmail, chrome, and google search.

@valen1 Drive and photos contain massive amounts of data. Once the alternatives are available, it would mean de Google in true sense.

@abhishek @valen1 We're working on post-quantum encryption for drive already. Stay tuned!
