#Tusky 23.0 has just been released.

This is primarily a bug fix release after 22.0, although you will also notice a new preference to adjust text size across the user interface.

Is there a way to store recently used languages at the top of the languages choice? I frequently switch between EN and SI only, which is a bummer because SI is way at the bottom of the long list.
in reply to Miha Markič

@mihamarkic Add it to your list of languages configured in your Android system settings, and it'll appear at the top of the list.

Tusky is awesome!
But in that new version it now constantly gives my a notification for whenever it is downloading notifications. Is there a way to deactivate that notification?
in reply to Tusky

I wish the app kept supporting older android versions

Am I the only one who cannot play any videos at all with #Tusky? A few weeks ago I read something about it, but I cannot find it anymore. I thought the next update will solve the issue, but I still cannot play videos with version 23. I see nobody complaining, that's why I'm asking. Thank you.
in reply to Sibshops

@Sibshops How do I know? I would say embedded. I see nothing that it is YT.

@r3vilo
It could be a codec not available on your phone. Does it affect all videos or some of them?

Can you see this video (h.264)?

in reply to Sibshops

@Sibshops Every video I try cannot be played. With #Fedilab for example it works, in #Tusky not. So, it shouldn't be the phone, except Fedilab comes with codecs exclusively for the app, but I doubt it is so. So what else could be the reason? Thanks

Edit: And no, I can't see this video. After pressing the play button it seems it's loading, then comes a black screen with the message "cannot play this video" (screenshot shows the german message) and that's it. Always the same.

@r3vilo
That looks like a new issue, I can't find something similar in their issue list. If you have time or inclination would you be able to report it on github?

in reply to Sibshops

@Sibshops I found something similar. At least the same error message, but I don't know what is meant by "the parent video".

https://github.com/tuskyapp/Tusky/issues/3543

This from 2022 seems similar and several people had problems playing videos:

https://github.com/tuskyapp/Tusky/issues/1310

If I read the mentioned solution right, it could be the instance?

in reply to r3vilo

@r3vilo I don't think it is the instance since you tried a few of them.

@Sibshops Just installed #Husky which looks actually the same like Tusky, idk what's the difference in detail between the two clients, but in Husky I can play videos. I also deleted cache, memory, de- and reinstalled Tusky again, but no change. It doesn't play videos. Just for information. If I have time I will create an issue. Thanks.
in reply to r3vilo

@r3vilo @Sibshops Please send links to videos (or public posts that contain videos) that you are unable to play.
in reply to r3vilo

@r3vilo thanks. They all play correctly for me, in Tusky 23.0 on a Pixel 4a. What device are you using?
in reply to Tusky

Y'all are going great work! This is definitely my favorite #Mastodon client.
