@wiktor I understand the concern about bad fallback on the web. I just wish people would be a bit more pragmatic about it and at least add support for reading / opening such URIs. Nobody suggested replace all Follow buttons with web+activitypub: links.

Did you know that #Fedilab has a dedicated layout for #Peertube?
You can easily discover what is Peertube with your Mastodon account.

For that, the app has a dedicated entry in the main menu. You can watch videos on instances and also comment, fav with your Mastodon account.

It seems that #Fedilab started to fail for some instances. That happens on older devices (Android 5 and 6).
We will reintroduce conscrypt to patch the security provider for older devices.

I've been using Unified Push + Element + Fedilab via Nextcloud and NextPush and it's been remarkably simple and reliable while keeping all that sweet, sweet metadata out of the Goog's hungry clutches. Thank you!

Can't wait for Yunohost to support sliding sync so I can shift to ElementX.

The crosshair icon in #Fedilab may be the most unknown feature, what do you think? It completely changed my perception of the size of #fediverse / #mastodon
Look at this example (screenshot), on the first one it looks like the post had only minimal reach, after pressing the crosshair icon all the data is fetched from all fediverse servers (which can take 1-3 seconds), also the discussion below the original post is much larger 😮

@Sibshops Every video I try cannot be played. With #Fedilab for example it works, in #Tusky not. So, it shouldn't be the phone, except Fedilab comes with codecs exclusively for the app, but I doubt it is so. So what else could be the reason? Thanks

Edit: And no, I can't see this video. After pressing the play button it seems it's loading, then comes a black screen with the message "cannot play this video" (screenshot shows the german message) and that's it. Always the same.

This message appears after 1-2 seconds of loading.
This is how I see the thread, and when I click on the picture/video the black screen appears.

This evening I pushed a #Prosody community module that acts as a #UnifiedPush server. It allows apps on your phone to receive push notifications, using #XMPP as the delivery channel instead of Google's proprietary FCM or regular polling.

It uses a protocol devised and implemented by @daniel and all credit goes to him for this idea and first implementations.

It's all experimental stuff, but I'm already using it to get realtime notifications in #Fedilab 🙂
