Is there a PPA I can use for Mint? Currently using their repo, which doesn't have the most up to date version, and the download page simply prompts me to download a deb file which isn't ideal
in reply to Flit 🦊 🔥

@flit Hi! We don't maintain a PPA currently (limited resources), but launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+ar… is usually updated quickly 👍

I feel like I’m missing something but I can’t find if I can do it and where. Can’t I update the #LibreOffice version I have (7.5.0.3) to 7.5.2 instead of doing a completely new installation? I’m quite new to LibreOffice so I don’t think I’ve updated it before.

Can someone help? :tony_neutral:

@DavidRHel
What is your OS? Use the official installation technique for your system and it should just update. For example, if on Linux/Debian/Ubuntu sort of thing, unpack all the debs into a folder, cd there and do

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Other OS methods should work as well.

@demerara I use Windows. In the program it satsthere is a new update and it Kinksto the website. There’s Also a grayed out install button.
in reply to DavidRHel

@DavidRHel
Where is it grayed out? In the LO screen?
So I'd suggest go to the download page
libreoffice.org/download/downl…
and get the installer you want, then quit any instances of LO and run the installer.
in reply to eMarginalia

@demerara Okay. Will that install lo again or will it update the version I have? I feel like I don’t want to have to make multiple installments just to update every time I need to.
in reply to DavidRHel

@DavidRHel @demerara not an expert but the installer on the download page updates the installation you have and removes outdated files. You don’t end up with multiple installations. With be sure to check your computer and OS for the right version (32, 64)
in reply to DavidRHel

@DavidRHel @smFowler @demerara Hi! You can't do it directly in LibreOffice yet, as we don't have enough resources to implement auto/in-app updates. Everyone who wants them is welcome to give our volunteer community a hand: libreoffice.org/community/get-… – Or fund a developer to work on it: documentfoundation.org/certifi… 👍

@libreoffice, Hi 😊
What user interface and theme have you chosen for the configuration of Libreoffice on the picture?
Best regards,
Peter

I got a bit of a shock when I saw that screenshot, actually. Took a while to see that the tabbed interface is an option. PLEASE also keep the option of an old-style menu and toolbars UI for those of us who greatly prefer that.

This looks really sleek and attractive. Well done, #LibreOffice, this doesn't look like the average #OpenSource and #FOSS software.

I would have guessed that this is #MicrosoftOffice because I don't use it at all, and it is the last #OfficeSuite that I saw and interacred with.
