He knows what he says. My only hope is we can keep the #network transparency that we all loved in #X11 (even if according to lwn.net/Articles/553415/ X11 is not really transparent anymore)

X11 is only network transparent if you are using a Motif app from 1995. Otherwise you're just sending pixels over the wire in the most inefficient way possible. GNOME supports RDP with Wayland, these days.

Is remote desktop making a comeback in GNOME on Wayland?

There’s finally some good news with regards to restoring VNC remote desktop capabilities in GNOME Wayland sessions. (It’s not fixed just yet.)
