Last night Organic Maps was removed from the Play Store without any warnings or additional details due to "not meeting the requirements for the Family Program". Compared to Google Maps and other maps apps rated for 3+ age, there are no ads or in-app purchases, and no user information is collected in Organic Maps. We have asked for an appeal.

As a temporary workaround you can install the upcoming Google Play update from this link: cdn.organicmaps.app/apk/Organi…

This APK should work with Android Auto.

Reason might be simpler then you could possible imagine, in my humble subjective opinion: Google PlayStore is explicitly for tracking the user and with in-app purchases to squeeze every little money out of there is.

Your own App don't do anything of the above mentioned malicious capitalism and anti user friendly behavior. 😉

You should see that "kicked out of Google PlayStore" more as an Reward then punishment by Google.

Of course you lose some visibility to potential new Users in the PlayStore from Google but do you want all those ones in the first place for an App with all the benefits for Privacy like yours?

Does that imply only geeks are using F-Droid? 👀 Kidding of course, and understood: people are intentionally misled to think only PlayStore is safe, though studies even state the opposite… Not your fault nor ours, and we know who does that and why. Monopoly, capitalism… sadly. Keep up your good work, we try the same on our ends. @kranzkrone
