I wouldn’t characterize F-Droid’s default repo as shipping apps straight from the devs. F-Droid builds and signs apps with its own key. Alongside other things, this does present some major security problems.

@Seirdy where did I say F-Droid ships straight from the devs?
I mentioned Obtainium does that, not F-Droid.

Also, In general, I do not agree with the article you linked, which I've encountered before :P
