If someone proposed you, say, 100 GB of #NextCloud hosting to have your own private cloud for $3 or 3 € a month with unmetered bandwidth, full setup and tech support specifically tailored for #accessibility needs, would you consider it? #Boosts encouraged! Thanks!

@nick Why so? I'm using it for file storage and sharing and I'm happy with it. What's the reason you hate it?
in reply to André Polykanine

Windows app interface. Can't clear five notifications accessibly. Can't work out how to share files, and I'm usually able to handle some shit interfaces.
in reply to Nick Giannak III

@nick I usually share straight from the shell context menu in Windows Explorer. But yeah, Windows client accessibility could be better, I'll talk more with the developers about it.

@nick

not php-based; possibly better performance; focuses more on file storage and less on being an all-in-one cloud solution

@rlegowski1 It's basically a way of having your files stored in a cloud, much like OneDrive, Google Drive, such things, but you don't pay to big corporations and no one uses your files for anything, except for you.

My experience with nextcloud has been web interface=excellent, native app=quite ungood. Considering, last I tried, even when sharing via shell, the share dialog in and of itself wasn't that great access-wise. I really should give it another go to see if it's improved since my use of the native app in around 2021. Of course, being a web-based GUI, accessibility is definitely fixable.

@vol4life8657 If you know what a cloud like OneDrive, Google Drive or iCloud is, then it's the same, but you don't pay to greater corporations, have your files safe and can be sure no one uses your files except for yourself.
