Today is one of those days I am forever grateful I have my Tom Baker scarf for walking the dogs. #snow #DoctorWho

"Empire of Death" wasn't a great way to end a #DoctorWho season. Episode 488 of the Two-minute Time Lord podcast: twominutetimelord.com/2mtl-488…

Remembering the late William Russell on what would’ve been his 100th birthday, who played one of the Doctor’s first companions, Ian Chesterton, in the very first Doctor Who adventure, An Unearthly Child, which originally aired on the BBC in 1963. #DoctorWho

NLS BARD is grouping their #DoctorWho novels into two separate series: Doctor Who and Doctor Who Library, and I don't think those two series list all of their novels. If they're going to have more than one series, they should be catalogued as Doctor Who TV Novelizations and Doctor Who BBC Books. Clearly, they haven't had a Doctor Who fan assisting them with this task. Perhaps I should offer my services to them?
www.loc.gov/nls

For fans of #DoctorWho with a qualifying print disability, the following title was recently added to the BARD service by NLS. The phrase "Doctor Who" is not found in the title or description, so people who search BARD for "Doctor Who" may not find it. I haven't checked to see if BARD has grouped it into a Doctor Who series.
I've already read this book from Bookshare, as it's been available from that service for quite some time.

Science Fiction

"When Unit is called in to investigate a mysterious incident on a North Sea drilling platform, the Doctor discovers that the Brigadier and others are starting to forget about the Master, Unit's highest-profile prisoner."-- From publisher. Unrated. Commercial audiobook.

You might want to save it for December, but there is a festive Short Trip that I like to listen to at this time of year - O Tannenbaum, narrated by Peter Purves.

A log cabin buried in snow, surrounded by Christmas trees - it's the Big Finish audio that Bob Ross would have enjoyed painting.

#DoctorWho #BigFinish

Fellow Whovians, I'd like some recommendations for some #BigFinish audios that are 'happy'. Something like The Great Sontaran War or The Veiled Leopard. Something that doesn't have deep issues or lots of dreariness. I wanna get back into the audios but *waves around at everything* the dark stuff isn't really for me right now.

Remembering William Russell, who played one of the earliest (and one of my very favourite) of the Doctor's companions, Ian Chesterton, on what would have been his 100th birthday.

@MarkTh213 Thank you for the follow. I've been a #DoctorWho fan for nearly 40 years, including the novels and audio dramas. I also am a supporter of Israel.

It was the best of #DoctorWho, or it was the worst of Doctor Who - but can a story be both things simultaneously? Find out as we discuss The Web Planet:

I'm so glad we've had so many great Eight Doctor audios, thanks to Big Finish. I haven't yet read any of the Eight Doctor adventures from BBC Books but they're definitely on my list and I have "the Eight Doctors" ready to read in my book player app. I'm one of those people who also feels that Mcgann should now be considered the ninth Doctor; it bugs me that the War Doctor never gets counted. Then again, with what we now know about the Timeless Child, Mcgann could well be the 87th Doctor, for all we know. #DoctorWho

Wishing a very happy birthday to the Eighth Doctor, Paul McGann. #DoctorWho

"You need a lot of things to travel through the universe.... but most of all, you need a hand to hold."

Even more true today than in 2006.

And yes, I did just quote #DoctorWho 's episode Fear Her.

To my followers: whenever I post about a TV show or a book, such as Doctor Who or Babylon 5, I'll try to remember to add relevant hashtags, such as #DoctorWho or #Babylon5 to allow those who are not interested in those topics to filter them out.

I'm sorry to hear that. As my followers will surely verify, I never resist getting into a conversation about #DoctorWho. Please, don't give up on Mastodon.

Hey, Who fans. Sadly, Mastodon didn't pan out the way I hoped, there wasn't much of a community that built up and there still isn't that much really. So...

We've just set up on Bsky if you want to connect and chat there - bsky.app/profile/bigblueboxpod… and (for now at least) still on X/Twitter - x.com/bigblueboxpcast

Whatever social channel you're on, let's connect and chat #DoctorWho

For now, Mastodon, peace out. It's been fun.

Finally got round to finishing my Lego Large Dalek design, needs a fair bit of refining, and would likely have to rework the joint, but I really like this concept ^_^
Head spins and eye goes up and down.

This is a timeline cleanser every #DoctorWho fan needs: Tom Baker covered in #kittens!

Pleased to meet you. I've been a fan of #DoctorWho for nearly 40 years. I enjoy #StarTrek, as well, but haven't watched any Trek in a while as DW has taken up a lot of my time.

Hello. Thought I’d post here.

I’m a fan of #startrek #DoctorWho and #vinylrecords

I would appreciate a follow from people interested in these things.

For years, I always imagined Oscar the Grouch to be a time lord due to everything he supposedly was able to fit in that trash can. #DoctorWho

I don't see any reason that #SesameStreet can't be in the same universe as #DoctorWho.

Those 26 seasons (First Doctor thru Seventh Doctor) are also on Tubi for free.

#DoctorWho

@dennishoward Also, Xumo Play, Amazon Prime Video and PlutoTV have a streaming #DoctorWho channel. However, I don't believe those channels offer the series on demand and the streams don't necessarily show episodes in order.

@sb

Found this for anyone else reading this conversation...

The missing episodes are so much fun to listen to. I'm glad that some fans chose to record the audios from these stories and that the BBC decided to release them on audio with linking narration (what we in the blindness community refer to as audio description. There are a few that I still haven't gotten around to hearing yet. #DoctorWho

I hope you enjoy it. Like probably most fans of the show, I started out with the classic series and so it's just as important to me as the new series, perhaps even more so. #DoctorWho

I just discovered that BritBox has 26 - yes 26 seasons of Doctor Who going back to when it first aired in 1963. There are 695 episodes. That is about 300 hours.

I have never watched the series.

This might be just what I need to get through the next couple of years.

Just got on to the latest #DoctorWho Time War box set (after a catch up). Nowhere, Never is beautifully trippy. Loving it… but I’m now finding myself slightly confused about my own continuity.

Nah, not likely. Probably just Alastair. Even the third Doctor called him that in "Planet of the Spiders." #DoctorWho

Important question for #DoctorWho fans:

Do we think that, in his younger days, anyone used to call the Brigadier “A.G.”?

I.e. “Hey, A.G. My old friend! I heard they made you a lieutenant! Who’d have thought old A.G. 10-shot double flop would be moving up the ranks?”

Omg. Get over yourself, Doctor. Just do it. Sarah Jane, just slap his hands together. #DoctorWho #GenesisOfTheDaleks
